Image and content sourcing

Every picture and every fact on this site sits in one of four buckets. This page says which bucket, what licence it rests on and the rule we hold ourselves to. If you think we have it wrong, the copyright page has a form that reaches us directly.

Our own frames

A rotating library of commissioned scenes, matched to each center by region and format so pages stay visually distinct.

Source guidelines

What we use, the permission it relies on, and the limit we apply.

Commissioned scene photography

Where it appears
Card and hero images on outlet, mall, store and brand pages
Permission
Created for this site. We hold the rights and can license or withdraw them at will.
Our limit
Scene frames are typical of the region and format, never presented as a photograph of a specific named center. Alt text always names the scene, not the venue's own architecture.

Operator press rooms and newsrooms

Where it appears
Opening dates, leasing announcements, store counts, event and sale programmes
Permission
Press releases are published for reporting use. We quote briefly, attribute the operator and link to the release.
Our limit
We take facts and short quotes, not whole releases, and we date-stamp each item so readers can see how fresh it is.

Newsletters and promotional material

Where it appears
Sale windows, coupon terms, loyalty-club benefits, holiday hours
Permission
Consumer promotions are issued to be shared. We restate the offer in our own words and cite the source.
Our limit
We never reproduce a promotional artwork, coupon barcode or logo lockup, and we never imply a partnership that does not exist.

Open data and mapping

Where it appears
Coordinates, driving legs, nearby hotels and sights on state and center pages
Permission
OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL), with Nominatim, Overpass and OSRM services.
Our limit
Map tiles and data carry their attribution in the map frame on every page that renders one.

What we never publish

  • Operator or brand logos used as decoration, or in a way that suggests endorsement.
  • Photographs lifted from an operator site, a listing agent, a review platform or a social post.
  • Stock frames with recognisable faces used to imply a named center's own shoppers.
  • Full text of a press release, newsletter or advertisement.
  • Any image whose rights we cannot document if asked.

Rights holders can ask for anything to be removed in good faith on the copyright and takedown page. Journalists can find press kits, media contacts and downloadable releases in the press room. Commercial disclosures sit on the terms page, and tracking detail on the privacy page.
